Hyderabad: Telangana RTC has decided to use Bio-Diesel in its two depots on an experimental basis. Initially 78 buses of Barkatpura Depot and 110 buses of Bandlaguda Depot will use Bio-Diesel.
It is reported that Greater Hyderabad has 28 bus depots with a fleet of 3800 buses. RTC officials are making an attempt to use Bio-Diesel in buses so as to free the atmosphere from pollution. It is also reported that by using Bio-Diesel will minimize its expenditure on fuel. Bio-Diesel costs Rs. 45 a liter whereas the normal diesel cost Rs. 53 a liter. By using Bio-Diesel buses will not get damaged soon.
