One person was killed and 17 others were injured when the bus carrying them met with an accident at Punadipadu village near Kankipadu in Krishna district. The private bus carrying passengers to Narsapur in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh from Hyderabad overturned after hitting an electric pole in the wee hours of Friday. The driver is said to have lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve.
The deceased has been identified as A Srinivasa Rao of Bhavanipuram in Vijayawada. The injured were rushed to hospitals in Vijayawada and Gudivada. The bus driver has been taken into custody for over speeding.
