Bus rams into roadside store 4 injured

Hyderabad, August 12: Four persons, including a woman, were injured when a bus rammed into a stationery store at a crowded place here today apparently after its brakes failed, police said. The incident took place in the posh Banjara Hills area at around 2.30 pm when the Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus was on its away to Ranigunj depot from Nandinagar.

The bus driver lost control over the wheel after its “brakes failed” and the vehicle crashed into the shop, they said. Four persons, three of them inside the shop and the driver, G G Reddy, suffered injuries. The woman received serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby private hospital, police said.

The front portion of the bus and its window-panes were completely damaged. Four bikes parked on the roadside were also damaged, eye witnesses said. One of the bus passengers said the driver reportedly shouted that the brakes were not working and he was losing control over the vehicle. Police were investigating the matter.
