Chennai, Aug 07 : Joe Burns and Usman Khawaja struck contrasting tons on Friday as Australia A claimed a thumping 119-run win over India A to win their second match of the triangular series, which also features South Africa A.
The tourists posted a daunting 335-run target after opting to bat first at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Burns smashed 154, including 14 sixes and four fours, and shared a strong 239-run partnership with captain Khawaja (100) for the opening wicket.
Matthew Wade then scored a brisk 34 off 21 balls to accelerate the innings and post a mammoth total.
In reply, India A ran out of steam as they were bundled out for 215 in the 42.3 over. Captain Unmukt Chand (52) and Kedar Jadhav (50) were the notable scorers for the hosts.
Gurinder Sandhu was the pick of the bowlers for Australia A, with returning figures of 4-28.
With the win, Australia A are cruising through the competition after claiming two back to back bonus-point wins. (ANI)
