Burj Khalifa lights red in solidarity with China

Dubai: Burj Khalifa the iconic structure of United Arab Emirates (UAE) was lit up red on Sunday evening in solidarity with China and its people over the coronavirus outbreak. Burj Khalifa was lit up in red and gold, the colours of the Chinese flag. “Stay strong, Wuhan” was also displayed in Chinese language.

The skyscraper is the tallest man-made structure in the world. The twitter handle of Burj Khalifa posted the image with a message: “BurjKhalifa lights up in support for #Wuhan in these difficult times Stay strong, Wuhan”

Other significant landmarks across the country including the Capital Gate, the Abu Dhabi Global Market, the Emirates Palace and Sheikh Zayed Bridge in Abu Dhabi, Burj Al Arab in Dubai and Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain were also illuminated with the Chinese flag colours.

Twitterati hailed the move and termed it a noble gesture on part of Dubai.
