Hyderabad, February 4: Tension erupted in Chatrinaka area over burial of unclaimed Muslim bodies when local non Muslim residents opposed the burial and demanded to exhume the bodies and take them away. However the situation was brought under control when police intervened.
Siasat daily has been arranging burial of unclaimed Muslim bodies from in and around Hyderabad for more than past three years.
On Thursday too with the permission of the supervisor Siasat workers Mr Zahid and Zubair buried an unclaimed Muslim body after Zuhr prayers and were returning, when some local Hindus raised objection and presurrised them to exhume and take away the body on which the workers informed Chatrinaka police about the situation.
Inspector Mr. Shyam Babu sent a constable along with them till then more people started gathering there.
Siasat workers informed the police inspector that burial of Muslim bodies is being conducted by Siasat daily for which they have special permission by Commissioner Police and unclaimed Muslim bodies are handed over to Siasat daily through local police stations so that their last rites could be performed with Islamic rituals. Special written permission by graveyard supervisor Mr. Khursheed Hussain is also available.
After studying the documents inspector overruled the objection of locals and asked them to leave but they were inflexible over their demand to shift the body. Seeing the situation getting worse inspector called additional police force and dispersed the crowd.
