Govt. of Telangana has decided to allot 10 acres of land at Pahadi Shareef for Muslim graveyard. The process of burying Muslim dead bodies will start within a month after cordoning the boundary. Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Dy. CM of Telangana State held a meeting with the officials of Department of Minorities Welfare and reviewed various welfare schemes like Shaadi Mubarak, Starting of Residential Schools and Construction of Hostels. He instructed the officials to make easier the burials of poor Muslim dead bodies since huge amounts are being collected for burying. 10 acres of land at Pahadi Shareef was identified. Dy. CM instructed the officials to convert it into a Muslim graveyard. He further told that Wakf Board will manage this graveyard. Ambulance Cars would be arranged for transporting the dead bodies of the poor Muslims. A Toll Free number would be given in Wakf Board. A mosque will be constructed at the spot. Imam and Muazzin will be arranged.
After the meeting, while talking to newsmen, Mr. Mahmood Ali said that Minorities Finance Corporation has decided to give subsidy to 1000 poor persons for purchasing Auto Rickshaws. An Auto Rickshaw costs Rs. 1.48 lakh. Minorities Finance Corporation will provide a subsidy of Rs. 50000. The purpose of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to poor Muslim families. He informed that in every district two residential schools and hostels would be constructed very soon for boys and girls. The Dy. CM instructed the officials to start constructing 20 hostels during the current financial year itself. He said that land would be identified with the corporation of District Collectors. Next 20 more hostels would be constructed. He instructed Wakf Board officials to complete the work relating to wakf records and their preservation. On the basis of this record, revenue records would be prepared. He further told that by providing similarity in wakf records and revenue records, many wakf properties could be protected. District Collectors would be issued instruction for the protection of Wakf properties.
Reviewing Shaadi Mubarak Scheme, Dy. CM told the officials to ensure the target before 31st March. He told the officials to erect flex boards at mosques of the State in order to create awareness about the welfare schemes started by the Govt. The Department of Minorities Welfare will construct its offices at all the district headquarters which will accommodate all the offices pertaining to Minorities. The purpose of this step is to save the trouble of the people of going round the offices. He promised that the staff of the Department of Minorities Welfare would be increased. So far, 2554 applications have been received for Shaadi Mubarak Scheme, out of which 1069 cases have been cleared. Govt. has provided Rs. 20 crore for this scheme. So far 4.92 crore have already been spent. The Department of Finance has been requested to release Rs. 20 crore more for the implementation of this scheme. There is a proposal to setup a permanent police outpost at the office of Wakf Board to eradicate the intervention of middlemen. A meeting is being convened with Police Commissioner of Hyderabad to ensure the protection of Wakf properties. District Collectors of Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy and Commissioner of GHMC have also been invited for this meeting. A strategy would be formulated to protect Wakf properties. He instructed the officials to ensure the payment of the salaries of Makkah Masjid and Shahi Masjid of Public Garden. Necessary repair works of these mosques should also be undertaken. He told the officials to ensure utilization of Minorities Budget before the end of this Financial Year. Govt. has to release Rs. 90 crore towards the payment of scholarships and fees reimbursement. He instructed the officials to issue necessary instructions in this regard. He informed that there is a proposal of holding an international Urdu conference in Hyderabad very soon. He also informed that the problem of accommodation of Hajj pilgrims for their stay in the Rubaths in Makkah very soon.
Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS, Special Secretary of the Department of Minorities Welfare, Mr. Mohammed Jalaaluddin Akbar, IFS, Special Officer of Wakf Board, Prof. S.A. Shukoor, MD of Minorities Finance Corporation, Mr. Nicholas, Director of Christian Finance Corporation, Mr. Sultan Mohiuddin, CEO of Wakf Board and other officials were present at the meeting.
