New Delhi, March 13: Unidentified burglars struck two houses, including that of Deputy Dean of Delhi University, in the national capital and decamped with cash and jewellery worth around lakhs of rupees, police said today.

In the first incident, a senior police official said burglars targeted the house of Gurpreet Singh Tuteja in Ambika Vihar in west Delhi last evening when the Deputy Dean was not at home.

Tuteja had left his residence at around 1.30 pm to visit to a relative. The incident came to light when he returned home at around 8.45 pm and saw that the back doors of his house were broke open.

He informed police about the burglary and in a complaint claimed that gold and some cash were missing from the house, a senior police official said.
