Hyderabad, December 23: A Watchman at a wine shop was killed by unidentified miscreants as he reportedly resisted an attempt to loot the shop at Keesara on the outskirts of the city on Monday night.
The watchman, Tilak Bisthe (20), hailed from Nepal and came to the city a year ago. He was residing at the Sri Venkateshwara Nagar at Nagaram and was employed as a watchman at Srinivasa Wines at Sri Venkateshwara Nagar at Nagaram in Keesara police station limits.
Police said the offenders tried to gain access into the shop by making a hole in the wall on the rear side.
“Tilak might have heard the offenders breaking the wall and went to the rear side to see what was going on. Fearing that the watchman would nab them, the accused overpowered Tilak and smashed his head with a boulder leaving him dead instantly,’’ Keesara police said.
The shop-owner, Jiteender Reddy, found Tilak lying in a pool of blood on Tuesday when he went to open the shop and informed the police.
