Meerut: Tracing men behind cow slaughter remains UP Police’s ‘top priority’ despite an on-duty Police Inspector’s killing by the angry mob in Bulandshahr.
Though the slain inspector Subodh Kumar Singh’s case is being probed by the SIT headed by IG (Meerut range) Ram Kumar, the IG stated finding men who have slaughtered cow remains their top priority.
Referring to Bajrang Dal leader (main accused) in the case found on video footage, he said, no forensic evidence exists against him except the video.
“Why were the cows slaughtered? Who was behind the conspiracy? We want to identify the people behind the conspiracy. There is a bigger question than catching a person who is on a video, against whom there is no forensic proof,” IG Kumar told media.
“The incident in Bulandshahr is a big conspiracy. This is not only a law and order issue, how did the cattle carcass reach there? Who brought it, why & under what circumstances?” OP Singh DGP UP had said.
Meanwhile, Yogi Adityanath has ordered a probe into alleged cow slaughter.
According to sources, the CM is reported said: “Tough action needs to be taken against those who carried out cow slaughter. The incident is part of a bigger conspiracy, and all those directly or indirectly related to cow slaughter should be arrested in a time-bound manner.”
