Meerut: Man who shot on duty-police officer Subodh Kumar Singh in Bulandshahr violence over alleged cow slaughter is arrested claims Police.
The man Prashant Natt whose name has not surfaced in the FIR was arrested on Thursday while Bajrang Dal member prime accused in the case Yogesh is not the prime accuse claimed Police.
The Police have apprehended four more youths in the last few days of which none of them had been named in the original FIR filed just after the violence that named 27 accused.
“The name of all these accused came up later during investigation. We have strong evidence and corroborative statements to back our claims that one among them had shot inspector Subodh Kumar Singh,” Bulandshahr SSP Prashant Chaudhary told TOI.
The four arrested persons identified as David, Rahul and Johnny and were arrested a few days ago while Lokender surrendered before police.
The Police claims prime accused Prashant Natt was arrested on Thursday evening.
As of now no information is available on Natt except that he is from Chingrawati village and drives cab in the NCR. Natt’s family has also disappeared from his ancestral house.
Police sources said these four arrested after scores of video footages of the crime scene were scanned, TOI reports.
“More than 10 youths spotted near Chingrawati police outpost at that particular time were marked as suspects. Of them, these five are certainly linked to the murder some way of the other,” said a source.
While the special investigation team (SIT) probing the violence has released the screen grab from the violence video footage where a youth can be seen filming the violence near the police outpost.
“The youth in the video is calmly filming the incident very close to the spot where inspector Singh was killed. He can provide a strong clue about the killers,” Bulandshahr SP (city) Atul Kumar Srivastava said.
The Police has now announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for anyone giving input on the whereabouts of these youth.
Meanwhile, Yogesh Raj, the district convenor of Bajrang Dal who was named as the main accused in the FIR is still on the run.
