Bulandshahr: Police serves notice to Bajrang Dal leader, 22 other accused

BULANDSHAHR: The Uttar Pradesh police have sent notices to 23 people accused in the Bulandshahr violence case that claimed the lives of a Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh and a local youth, Sumit Kumar.

Among those who have been served notices includes Yogesh Raj, the main conspirator behind the rampaging mob violence. All 23 are residents of Bulandshahr were remained absconding.

A local court on Thursday issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against all the absconding accused including Yogesh Raj named in the case. Yogesh is the convener of the district unit of Bajrang Dal and one of prime accused in the case that incited the crowd to attacked Inspector Singh on December 3, killing him instantly. So far, the police have been able to arrest four people.

Police pasted the notices which were served last week on the doors of the residences on Friday. The notice declared all the accused as proclaimed offenders and have warned them that their properties will be attached if fail to surrender within a month, as reported by Indian Express.

“The investigation has revealed the role of 23 accused who are absconding. If they do not surrender, we will move court to attach their properties,” Bulandshahr SSP Prabhakar Chaudhary told Indian Express.

Singh was hit by blunt object and was also shot dead when he tried to reason with the rampaging Hindu activists blocking a busy road with carcasses of 25 animals they claimed found in the forests were of cows and slaughtered illegally.

According to sources, the post-mortem examination conducted on Singh had confirmed gunshot injury on his head.
