Bulandshahr Lynching: Bajrang Dal leader main accused in case, VHP, BJP members booked in FIR

Bulandshahr: Just a day after Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh and a youth were reportedly killed by a frenzied mob protesting over alleged illegal cow slaughter in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr, taking immediate action in the case, the state police have arrested four persons in connection with the violence case today.

According to reports, two FIRs have been filed in connection with the case so far. One of the FIRs is filed against the alleged cattle slaughter and the other one has been lodged against the violent protests that followed the allegations.

The Police named 27 people, including the Bajrang Dal leader Yogesh Raj in the FIR against violent protests while another 60 unnamed people have also been mentioned in the FIR.

Main accused in the riots, Yogesh raj is reported to be on the run.

Surprisingly, the main accused in the Police FIR, Bajrang Dal leader Yogesh himself has filed a separate complaint of illegal cow slaughter.

The police is proving the matter and arrests of other accused I the case is still awaited said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Bulandshahr, Krishna B Singh.
The Police has booked the accused under Indian Penal Code sections 147, 148, 149 (related to rioting), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 341 (wrongful restraint), 302 (murder), 307 (murder attempt), 436 (mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to destroy house), among others.

Meanwhile, the State government has ordered multiple probes by SIT, ADG- Intelligence along with a Magisterial inquiry into the case, India.com reported.

Responding to the killing Kapil Sibal said: “It’s a shocking state of affairs how a mob killed a police officer investigating the Akhlaq case. Who gives these people the authority to take law in their hands? Instead of taking care of his state Yogi is going to Telangana and spewing venom.”
