BULANDSHAHR: The Special investigation team of Uttar Pradesh police on Saturday has filed a chargesheet before a local court in the Bulandshahr riot case that claimed life of a police inspector Subodh Kumar Singh and a 20-year-old civilian.
According to reports, 38 people have been named in the chargesheet and so far, five people have been charged with murder of police official and riots.

Prashant Nutt, Lokendra, Rahul, David and Johnny has been charged with murder while local Bajrang Dal leader Yogesh Raj, also one of the key accused in the killing of Inspector Singh has been charged with inciting a riot and arson.
“Five people have been charged with murder of Siyana SHO Subodh Kumar Singh. The other 33 have been charged with rioting, arson and offences of similar nature,” Bulandshahr SP Atul Kumar Srivastava quoted Indian Express as saying.
The next hearing in the case is slated for Tuesday, said SP Srivastava.

The violent incident that occurred in December 3 last year after the carcasses of 25 cattle were found in forests close to a police post. Locals had alleged that the carcasses found were of cows, which were slaughtered illegally.
Police officer Singh, 44, who was trying to control the mob, was wounded in the head with a stone. As his driver bundled him into his SUV and tried to take him to a hospital, the mob followed the car, cornered it in a field and shot the police officer.
