Jama Masjid Shahi Imam Syed Ahmad Bukhari, slamming Modi for his statement to an international news channel over Indian Muslims joining Al Qaeda and said that Muslims in India have always been loyal to the country and they do not require any certificate from anyone.
Bukhari told reporters that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should talk to people, who put allegations on Muslim community. “Sacrifices of Muslims for this nation are known to PM and BJP. So they should work to finish the bigotry against us,” Bukhari said. And if PM wants to clean his image, he should work in this regard, added Shahi Imam.
The response came after Prime Minister gave his first ever interview to Foreign media since assuming office. He said that patriotism of Indian Muslims can’t be questioned and they can live and die for their country.
Ahead of his historic visit to Washington, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “My understanding is that they are doing injustice towards the Muslims of our country. If anyone thinks Indian Muslims will dance to their tune, they are delusional. “Indian Muslims will live for India, they will die for India – they will not want anything bad for India,” he told CNN in a rare media interview.
