Building collapses in Central Delhi

New Delhi, September 13: A two-storey building caved in this morning at Bapa Nagar in Central Delhi.

However, nobody was injured in the mishap. The building was already in a state of dilapidation and had received notice from the authorities.

According to police, at around 0630 hrs, Lajpat, owner of the house was sleeping at the roof of his two-storey house when suddenly he heard the noise of something crushing. He immediately rushed to the ground floor and alerted other members of the family, including his son, daughter-in-law and their four-month-old child.

They immediately vacated the house and within few minutes the house came crushing down.

By that time all the neighbours also came to their rescue, however, leading to this a 65-year-old woman got asthma attack. She was rushed to the Bara Hindu Rao Hospital and now her condition is stable.

MCD officials have also reached the spot and investigation is on.
