Hyderabad, May 12: A builder duped several persons who bought flats from him paying lakhs of rupees in his under-construction venture in the city. He later sold away the same flats to others.
The builder, R V Narayana of Chintal, took a hand loan of Rs 10.50 lakh from Eshwar Goud of Srinivasa Nagar on the pretext of completing the apartment being built in the locality. Narayana also gave a post-dated cheque and asked Eshwar to get it encashed after five months but it bounced.
Apart from this, Narayana took another Rs 10 lakh from Eshwar’s cousin, Sridhar Goud, by pledging a flat in his under-construction apartment. Narayana, however, sold away the flat to another person. For the past two weeks, Narayana’s house was locked and his mobile phone was switched off. “It is learnt Narayana duped 20 more persons,’’ Jeedimetla police said.
