New Delhi, December 12: A city-based builder was arrested today for allegedly causing death of a tourist by negligent driving here.
Aistch Sangma, the tourist from Meghalaya, was hit by a Jaguar on Wednesday while he was crossing the road at Akbar Road, police said. He sustained critical injuries in the incident and was admitted in Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital (RML).
Accused Indra Pratap Singh, owner of a commercial building in Connaught Place and a property in the premises of a star hotel, was arrested after allegations that a tourist from Meghalaya was hit by a Jaguar which was driven by Singh.
Singh did not flee from the scene but informed police about it. He told police said he could not see the victim as it was dark.
Sangma was visiting the national capital with his wife and friends for a tour.
