280 candidates have been declared eligible for Overseas Scholarship Scheme for minority students to study abroad, however the budget allocated for the scheme is yet to release. High officials of Minority Welfare have requested the government to release Rs. 16 Cr at the rate of Rs. 5 lakh to each candidate in the first phase.
Director Minority Welfare Mohammed Jalaluddin Akber sent the list of the candidates and details of budget required to Incharge Secretary Minority Welfare Mrs. D Aruna. Government had allocated Rs. 25 Cr for the scheme but not a single installment has been released so far.
