BJP floor leader Dr K Lakshman has described the just-concluded budget session of Telangana Legislative Assembly as highly disappointing.
Addressing a press conference at the State BJP Headquarters at Nampally here on Sunday, Lakshman said that the TRS Government suppressed the voice of ‘real opposition’ by having a secret understanding with the Congress and MIM. Of 63 questions of public importance posed by the BJP, the State Government gave replies to only 12 questions. He said that the BJP MLAs were able to speak only for 8.30 hours in the House. However, he said that the BJP tried to make proper representation of issues concerning common man.
Lakshman said that the BJP wanted the industrial policy to be referred to a Select Committee. However, on the request of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the BJP supported the policy on the assurance that all identified mistakes would be rectified by the government.
The BJP leader accused the TRS of misusing its strength in the House while trying to break the opposition parties. He said no section of the society, especially the farmers and students, failed to get an assurance from the government. He said that the BJP would continue to play the role of a constructive opposition and would also support the State Government if it decides to make any representation with the Centre. (INN)
