Finance Minister Etala Rajender has stated that the budget for 2015-16 will be better than the last year’s budget.
Speaking to media persons here on Sunday, Etala admitted that the last year’s budget was not much focused and had some glitches. Annual budgets are usually decided based on the previous year’s expenditures and revenues. Since Telangana was a new State, whatever allocations and expenditures made were completely a new experiment. Similarly, the State did not get the required funds from the Centre due to as the BJP Government too was new. However, he said based on previous year’s experience, the budget for 2015-16 has been finalised in the best manner.
Etala said that budget for 2015-16 would be focused more on welfare and agriculture sectors. He said more stress has been laid on sectors which could generate more employment opportunities. He said allocations have been made as per the priorities of different schemes set by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
Etala will present the first full-fledged budget of Telangana State in the State Legislative Assembly on March 11. (INN)
