Budgam Police counsels two youth against joining terrorist groups

Budgam (Jammu and Kashmir): The Budgam Police stopped two students on August 2 who ran away from their home and confessed their interest in joining terrorist organisations.

On July 31, Chrar-i-Sharief Police Station received a missing report from Abdul Aziz Dar and Abdul Qayoom Bhat, both residents of Charar-i-Sharief, in which they stated that their sons namely Basharat Ahmad Dar, 15, student of class 10 and Anayat Qayoom Bhat, 17, a class 12 student had gone to take their exam at Higher Secondary School Baghlipora, Chadoora but did not return home.

After receiving this information, Budgam Police lodged missing report and started the investigation.

After proper verification and investigation, it was found that the duo had gone to Tral area of Awantipora.

The Chrar-i-Sharief Station House Officer (SHO) sent a team to Awantipora on August 2 from where the duo was brought back.

During the interrogation, both the students narrated that they had gone to Tral after failing poorly in their exam and wanted to meet terrorists.

They were later handed over to their parents. (ANI)
