Kolkata, May 19: The West Bengal government today welcomed the Calcutta High Court’s direction to CBI to initiate a fresh investigation into the mysterious death of computer graphics teacher Rizwanur Rahman and said the state would not move the apex court against the ruling.
“I have not yet seen the paper (the HC order). Let there be a fresh investigation. It is important to find out actually what had happened. How did he die? Who were responsible for that? We want that truth should be out and guilty be punished,” Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee told a local news channel here.
“We will not move the Supreme Court against the High Court order,” he said.
A division bench of justices Bhaskar Bhattacharya and P Mondal had yesterday directed the central investigating agency to conclude its investigation within four months.
