Buddha Prasad Takes Charge As OLC Chairman

Newly nominated Chairman of the Official Language Commission Mandali Buddha Prasad on Thursday assumed office.

At a brief ceremony held in the Secretariat, Prasad took charge in the presence of Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Raja Narasimha and APCC president Botcha Satyanarayana and others.

It may be mentioned here that during his recent visit to New Delhi, the Congress High Command had given green signal to the Chief Minister to go ahead with filling of nominated posts to various corporations and government bodies. The nomination of Prasad as Chairman of OLC was the first appointment and similar nominations are expected in a phased manner in due course.

Speaking on the occasion, Buddha Prasad said that he would spare no efforts to implement Telugu asb official language at all levels. He also said that the Language Commission would play very active role in the ensuing World Telugu Conference.

Rajya Sabha member K. Chiranjeevi exuded confidence that Telugu would get a big boost under the chairmanship of Mandali Buddha Prasad. (NSS)
