Hoshiarpur (Punjab), June 18: A B.Tech student of a college at Kathar in the district was allegedly raped by a youth of Tanda Urmur, police said.
The police last night has booked Gurpreet, son of Sadhu Singh of Ward No 6, Tanda Urmur, under various sections of the IPC, including rape.
According to police sources, the girl, who hails from village Gurdaspur district and was staying in a college hostel at Kathar, alleged the accused met her at Adda Kathar when she was going to the college and offered her a lift, which she accepted.
He allegedly forcibly took her to Jalandhar and snatched her mobile phone. Later, he took her to a hotel where he locked her in a room. After about 20 minutes, he came in the room and allegedly raped her.
