Lucknow, March 12: Six BSP workers were allegedly kidnapped by the dreaded Ragia gang in Giduraha village of Chitrakoot but freed when police swung into action, a senior police official said here today.
On an information that six BSP workers were kidnapped yesterday by the miscreants, a police team led by SP Chitrakoot cordoned off the area and challenged them, ADG (law and order) Brij Lal said.
Finding themselves in a tight spot, the kidnappers fled into the jungles leaving all the six behind, the ADG said.
According to reports, the BSP workers — Kishanpal Singh, Chedi Lal, Aridaman, Nand Kishore, Jawahar and Brijendra Kumar — had come to the village to make preparations for next week’s party rally in Lucknow.
