New Delhi: In Lok Sabha, BSP MP Kunwar Danish Ali raised the issue of mob lynching and sought to know if the government is planning to bring any law to deal with the menace.
“Is the government planning to bring a law in this regard?” Ali asked during the Zero Hour.
Later, talking to a journalist, Mr. Kunwar said that mob lynching is not only a ‘law and order’ issues rather a communal one too. He also said although, people belonging to both Hindus and Muslims became victims of the menace, Muslims and STs suffered a lot.
He further said that such incidents are tarnishing the image of India at international level.
When claimed that such incident also took place in the previous governments, Mr. Kanwar said that currently, accused persons think that they can get away with it. In order to support his claim, he cited the example wherein junior minister in the earlier government garlanded the accused persons after they got bail in mob-lynching case.
When asked, “why would government not check mob-lynching incidents”, he alleged that electoral benefit is the reason.
