Bahujan Samaj Party members led by party supremo Mayawati today created ruckus in the Rajya Sabha on the issue of amendment bill for reservation and promotion for SC/STs in government jobs forcing Chairman Hamid Ansari to adjourn the proceedings till 1200 hrs.
Soon after the House began its sitting, Ms Mayawati demanded suspension of the Question Hour and sought to raise
the issue alleging that the government had assured to convene an all-party meeting but had done nothing even after
three months.
The Chairman granted her permission to raise the issue. Ms Mayawati demanded that an amendment bill for filling
up the vacanies for SC/STs be presented in the ongoing session.
