BSP to enter into alliance only if given enough seats, says Mayawati

Lucknow: Addressing the party’s national executive meeting on Saturday, BSP chief Mayawati said that the party will make an anti-BJP alliance with other parties only if it is given a respectable number of seats, adding that the party would contest the general elections alone otherwise.

“The talks for the coalition are on but the cadres should be prepared to keep the party flag high in all situations,” she said as per a report by the Times of India.

While referring to her brother’s recent stepping down from vice-president’s role in the party, BSP supremo said: “My younger brother, Anand Kumar, who held the position of vice-president, offered to step down in the interest of the Dalit movement and to serve as an ordinary worker.”
