BSF seizes 36 kg ganja near Bangladesh border

Kolkata: The BSF has seized 36 kg of ganja (cannabis) from near the Bangladesh border in West Bengal’s Nadia district, an officer said on Wednesday.

The seizure was made late on Tuesday night near Meghna border post.

“A BSF party intercepted some miscreants who were carrying some bags towards the Bangladesh border. While they managed to flee taking advantage of the darkness, we seized the bags from which 36 kg of ganja was recovered,” said a Border Security Force officer.

The BSF has so far in the year seized over 640 kg of ganja and apprehended 13 smugglers from across the South Bengal frontier.
