New Delhi: Former constable Tej Bahadur Yadav was dismissed from the BSF for sharing the substandard quality of food served to soldiers on social media. This move had made the government angry which had resulted in his dismissal.
A protest began on May 14 at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. Yadav had taken to the demonstrations and several came out in his support.
As per India Times, at the event organised by the Mumbai Congress, Yadav had said he would give Central government two months to implement the changes in the ration given to jawans and response to their death.
“Surgical strikes happen when elections are near. That is not how it should be. Those in the power used to say we will kill ten if they (Pakistan) kill one of our soldiers. How many have they killed so far? The death of one of our jawans is equal to killing one of their colonels, and that should be our answer. Breaking Pakistan into four pieces is not going to resolve the issue, we have already created Bangladesh which has become our headache,” Yadav had said.
The soldier was expelled from his services in April after an inquiry found him guilty of making accusations against his superiors.
Yadav in the video says, ” after promising an investigation of the food quality, the government did not render any, but I was dismissed. We neither can hire a lawyer nor can provide a living to the family.”
The soldiers who had raised their voice against the corruption were all dismissed. when they started to beg for the money in their protest at India Gate, police had arrested them and left the jawans at Jantar Mantar, he added.
