Mumbai, October 09: The BSE Sensex rose 0.5 percent early on Friday, as Infosys Technologies beat street expectations with a 7.5 percent rise in quarterly profit and raised its full year forecast.
Infosys was trading 2.5 percent higher at 2,267.20 rupees by 9:55 a.m. (0425 GMT) after the results.
The 30-share BSE index was up 0.55 percent at 16,936.74 points, with 21 components advancing.
The 50-share NSE Index was up 0.25 percent at 5,014.70.
