Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force, west zone busted a prostitution racket which was operating from a house in Banjara Hills and arrested three persons including the organizer.
The accused were identified as Shravani Kumar (40), organizer of the brothel and a resident of Yusufguda, M Ramana (31), a cab driver; and Vijay Shankar (28), car driver.
According to the police, about six years ago Shravani came to Hyderabad to earn a living and worked in different places. As the earnings were not sufficient, she started organizing a brothel house.
“Three months ago, she took a house on rent for Rs 11,000 per month and was running the brothel with women sex workers. She used to bring girls from different areas on an agreement to pay 30,000/15 days,” DCP Task Force P Radha Kishan said.
About two weeks ago, she brought a female sex worker from West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, he added.
Based on a credible information, the West Zone Task Force raided the house and arrested the organizer and the customers and rescued the victim. They all were handed over to the Banjara Hills police.
