London, January 26: Pop star Britney Spears has been given permission from the court to auction off the dress she wore at 2008 MTV Video Music Awards to raise cash for the Haiti earthquake relief effort.
Dailystar.co.uk reports that during a two-hour conservatorship update meeting with Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz Friday, Spears’ request to sell off the silver gown was granted.
The court also granted her father, Jamie, authority to get rid of clothing and property that was used during Britney’s last year’s Circus tour. The items are described as being “valueless” and occupying several storage containers.
No other changes to the conservatorship agreement have been announced.
Jamie won control of his daughter’s personal and financial affairs in 2008 after the singer suffered a much-publicised meltdown and was hospitalised.
