British mom delivers rare identical triplets

In a one-in-200-million cases, a British woman has defied all odds to deliver a set of identical triplets.

Thomas, Edward and Harry Chalwin look so alike that their 33-year-old mother Claire painted one of each of their fingernails to tell them apart, The Sun reported.

In a natural pregnancy, the odds of triplets are 4,000 to one, and of identical ones is even rarer.

The boys were delivered by Caesarian section at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Buckinghamshire in April.

Claire, a former nurse, and her husband Paul, a recruitment consultant, have a three-year-old son, William. The woman had suffered a miscarriage last June.

“Now I have no problem telling them apart – but it was difficult in the early stages which is why I came up with the colour coding idea. I’d apply it once a week to ensure we always knew which was which,” Claire said.
