Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy today said the people in the State were scared of using adulterated milk, oil and food grains as spurious seed flooded the markets.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Ponguleti said the Khammam farmers were being duped with Teja Plus hybrid Mirchi seed which was not yielding. He alleged that the State government supplied adulterated seed to farmers and demanded that the government arrest the distributors and file criminal cases against them. He also alleged that the greedy vigilance officials have surrendered to the seed companies. Alleging that the adulteration business was successfully going on in the State, Ponguleti demanded that the State government initiate immediate action against the culprits.
The Congress MLC also alleged that the government hospitals were giving spurious medicines to the patients. (NSS)
