BRICS women’s conference to begin today in Jaipur

Jaipur: Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan will today inaugurate the BRICS Women’s Parliamentarian Forum here.

42 delegates from BRICS countries will be attending a two-day meeting of forum.

There will be five women parliamentarians from Brazil, three from Russia, 28 from India, two from China and four from South Africa.

BRICS is a five-nation grouping of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

Mahajan’s inaugural session will be followed by plenary session on the theme of ‘Perspectives on implementation of SDGs’ at the Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha.

Theme of the second session, to be held on the second day on August 21, will be ‘Containing Climate Change – Imperatives of Global Cooperation’.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje will deliver the valedictory address and the Lok Sabha Speaker will give the concluding address on the second day.

The delegates will also visit Albert Hall and Amber Palace on Monday before their departure on Tuesday. (ANI)
