New Delhi: A 22-year-old man allegedly committed suicide in Jagatpuri after his girlfriend broke-up with him, police said today.
The man, in a purported suicide note he left before hanging himself, blamed the girl and her family for taking the extreme step.
Karan Singh Vaidya came in contact with the woman on Facebook around a couple of years ago, police said, adding they got into a relationship and the woman promised to marry him once she finishes her graduation.
Vaidya’s parents decided to get them married and thought of meeting the woman’s parents. However, the woman began avoiding him after that, they said.
Police said the woman’s uncle called Vaidya yesterday to Karkardooma where he allegedly threatened him.
Vaidya returned home and allegedly hanged himself, they said, adding his family members were not there at that time.
Police said they are probing the matter.
Vaidya was associated with the family’s jewellery business.
