Hyderabad, October 28: It’s free for all in the state Congress once again with the truce reached at the luncheon meeting organised by PCC president D Srinivas lasting barely a month. The latest bout of acriminious exchanges has been sparked off by the trouble that broke out at the martyrs’ memorial meet organised by the Telangana Congress leaders at Mahboobnagar recently.
The meet, where some activists believed to be supporters of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy created trouble over absence of YSR’s picture at the venue, sharpened the differences among senior Congress leaders from Telangana and those supporting Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Senior Telangana Congress leaders and MPs K Keshava Rao and V Hanumanth Rao lashed out at the trouble makers at Mahaboobnagar.
Hanumanth Rao, particularly, turned furious and challenged them to take on him in the state capital.
“I am being targeted since the day I took up the Emaar Properties issue,” Hanumanth Rao remarked.
MPs M Jagannadham, G Vivek, MLC KR Amos, MLA R Damodar Reddy and others said they would break the legs of people who dared to obstruct the meetings of Telangana leaders in future.
“We will not tolerate if the Congress leaders from Seemandhra conspire against the Telangana cause,” they warned.
On the other hand, coastal Andhra Congress MLAs Jogi Ramesh and Malladi Vishnu said senior leaders (VH and KK) were behaving like ‘street rowdies’ against YSR followers.
