New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday praised the courage of bravery awards recipients, saying bravery should be a part of our nature.
“The bravery of a few gives a new life to many others, sahas (bravery) has to be a part of swabhav (nature),” Prime Minister Modi said.
“As important as the incident is what came in the mind of the brave child at that crucial moment. Presence of mind is very essential. I want to congratulate all those awarded and I congratulate their parents,” Prime Minister Modi added.
Prime Minister Modi further said this one incident of bravery should be a stepping stone towards a lifetime of such incidents.
Twenty-five children, three girls and 22 boys, two posthumously, have been selected for the award from across the country for their extraordinary acts of bravery.
The National Awards for Bravery was initiated by the Indian Council of Child Welfare (ICCW) to give due recognition to children who distinguish themselves by their outstanding deeds of bravery and inspire other children to emulate them. (ANI)
