Brand, Perry team up for spoof for MTV Video Music Awards

London, August 27: British comedian Russell Brand and US singer Katy Perry have teamed up for a spoof of the song “Tonight” from the Broadway hit “West Side Story” in a video to promote the MTV Video Music Awards.
Dailymail.co.uk reports that during the performance Brand sings: “I’m in charge of who gets awards, Tonight, Tonight, I know its impolite but I will swap these for… rewards… Will saucy Pink and Katy Perry kiss, yes they might.”

In the video he dances on streets while singing the song. Perry performs on a rooftop against the backdrop of New York and chops away at a hedge to shape the letters — MTV.

This is the second year in a row that Brand is hosting the awards show and it will air on September 13 at New York’s Radio City Music Hall.
