The CCTV cameras of the Habib Hall where Mannan used to stay and the Geology Department he used to do research in can also be examined.
Mannan Bashir Wani, an AMU research scholar from Kupwara of Jammu and Kashmir is in news for allegedly joining terror outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HuM), since his photograph appeared on the social media in which he is seen holding AK 47, with a message declaring that he has joined the militancy.
Mannan is the son of Basheer Ahmed Wani. HuM spokesman confirmed the news on Monday. Mannan was pursuing his PhD in applied geology at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). However he was expelled on January 2 for his alleged links with Hizb-ul-Mujahideen. 3 investigative committees have been formed. Security agencies are busy in probe. They searched his room. According to sources every move of Mannan from Aligarh to Jammu is being examined to identify the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen leader with whose relation he reached here.
ATS has also released helpline number to collect information about Mannan. No objectionable item has been received from the items collected from Mannan’s room. SP City Uttar Srivastava told that the books and papers in Urdu and English found in his room are related to his research topic. Wani’s Facebook and twitter account is also being examined.
