Ujjain: As many as 51,000 Brahmins in Ujjain carried out the protest against the SC/ST Protection Act on Friday with BJP party now in a tight spot over pushing for reservations in promotions.

With a war cry, “Jab Jab Brahman Bola Hai, Raj Sinhasan Dola hai (whenever a Brahmin speaks up, the throne is rocked),” the Brahmins have gathered at Dusehra Maidan and denounced BJP party in Madhya Pradesh, TOI reports.

The upper-caste members under the banner of Akhil Bhartiya Brahmin Mahasangh are demanding the state to implement Supreme Court’s order on the investigation before arresting under SC/ST Protection Act along with the removal of caste-based quotas.

The protestors argued that Reservations should be only based on economic criteria and Caste base.

Furious at BJP in the state and previous government Congress the protestors told they don’t want either of the parties in the state.

Brahmin leader Kamal Kishore Nagar also at the gathering said: “Be careful. In two months, they (Congress and BJP) will come to beg.”

Meanwhile, the angry protestors burnt an effigy of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan and raised slogans against Ujjain BJP MP Chintaman Malviya and Ujjain South MLA Mohan Yadav.
