Telangana senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao has demanded that the YSRCP Chief and Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s brother-in-law Brother Anil Kumar has to answer to the people on the allegations being levelled against him with regard to Manikonda lands.
Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Monday, VH has said that he failed to visit the lands allegedly allotted to Brother Anil Kumar at Manikonda area today due to personal reasons. He said that he will visit the lands on February 19 and said that he will respond on behalf of the victims of Brother Anil Kumar, in case they asked him to respond on the issue. At the same time, he said Anil Kumar has to respond immediately to the allegations against him if he was really sincere. He said that the victims were stating that they were meted out with injustice and added that nobody laments like that if the problem was not genuine. VH said that he will meet the victims and inquire about the issue.
The Rajya Sabha member said that he will give some suggestions to the PCC Chief Botcha Sathyanarayana at the meeting to be held on February 20. He opined that the party heads of the State have to discuss about the party issues convening a meeting with the senior leaders and other important leaders.
Welcoming the Supreme Court verdict on Local Body elections, he said that the Local Body elections would be semifinals to the Congress party. He said that the BCs will get justice through this verdict and they will get a chance to contest in the elections. He said that the BCs will develop politically with this verdict.
Responding to a question, VH said that the Maharashtra Chief Minister might have asked about the separate Vidarbha demand when the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC Chief Botcha Sathyanarayana had asked AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi about the Telangana issue in the meeting at Delhi with the Congress ruled States Chief Ministers and PCC Chiefs. He said that he didn’t know what Union Minister and NCP Chief Sharad Pawar had said on Telangana issue. (NSS)
