SMS and E-mail campaign has also been started regarding this. An organization named Tanzeem Hindustani has started campaign against extravagance during functions. Muslims in Kurnool, Nizamabad, Mahboobnagar and other towns have framed rules regarding organizing functions and instructed bride’s family to serve simple menu in the wedding function which includes one item of rice be it vegetarian or non vegetarian, a non veg. curry and only one sweet dish. If anyone violates this rule and arranges for other delicacies the function is boycotted. Some even stop the cooks from cooking such items or destroy the item making them inedible.
It is the responsibility of the religious scholars to boycott extravagant and lavish functions but they happily attend such function without even a frown.
The need of the hour is that such type of campaign is launched in other big cities also where money is being lavishly spent in the name of functions.
