Boycott by Congressmembers untraditional: CM

Hyderabad, February 16: On some Congress MLAs and MLCs boycotting the Governor’s speech today, probably for the first time in the history of the Assembly, Chief Minister K Rosaiah said that they would discuss the issue on the party forum.

Speaking to reporters in the lobbies of the Assembly, Rosaiah termed the boycott as unfortunate and untraditional. He, however, hastened to add that the members only echoed the feelings of the people of their region. As for himself, he said all the regions were important as he happened to be the chief minister of the entire State. On ordering a probe into the lathicharge on mediapersons and Osmania University students, the chief minister said that as the SHRC had already ordered a probe and there was no need for the government to do so.
