Adialabad, January 08: Ten-year-old Aemurla Vamsi Krishna, a Class IV student of Government Upper Primary School in Acchampet, is proving to be an inspiration to his friends.
Disability seems to be no hurdle in his way to stand out as the meritorious among his classmates.
Though devoid of hands since birth, he never gave up studies.
He uses his feet for all his activities like eating, reading, writing and daily chores without any signs of stress.
He walks carrying books all the 600 metres distance to school from his house in Acchampet of Tandur mandal. Speaking to this paper, Krishna said he prefers being on his own. “Specially-abled children should be given encouragement instead of being pitied,’’ he said.
His teacher Roja Rani agreed that Krishna was one of the intelligent students in her class. “He does his job in the class without any help,’’ she said.
Vamshi’s parents – Tirupati and Padma said they feared a lot and felt dejected soon after his birth.
But now we are happy as he is good at studies and even playing some games, they said. They appealed to the government to sanction pension to their son.
