In a cruel incident, a teacher in Haridwar Public School in Bariyat village of Nalanda district shoved a bamboo stick at the face of four-year-old Amit on friday.
The stick entered the child’s eye, and according to Patna eye surgeons, the kid has lost his eyesight.
The teacher, say the kid’s relatives, asked Amit to read out the multiplication table by rote, and as the kid fumbled, the teacher Dinesh Kumar in a fury shoved the bamboo stick at his face.
The thin stick entered Amit’s left eye, and blood came gushing out, says Amit’s mother Mintoo Devi.
The boy was rushed to Biharsharif district hospital, from where he was referred to Patna Medical College Hospital, where the boy’s eye was operated upon.
But Amit’s eyesight may not be restored, says Dr B K Singh of PMCH.
The school management is conspicously silent over the whole issue. No FIR has been registered by police.
