Ave manhunt has been launched to trace some unidentified persons who had kidnapped a 13-year old boy from Sattenepalle of Karimnagar district and demanded a ransom of Rs.Five lakhs for his release.
According to information reaching here the boy who left his house in Sattenepalle of Ibrahimpatnam Mandal of the district went suddenly missing. Even as the worried parents were waiting for his return home, they were stated to have received a telephonic message demanding Rs.Five lakhs for his release.
The shocked and distraught parents pleaded with the kidnappers that they hailed from a very middle class family and that they could afford only Rs.Two lakhs. They made a fervent appeal t the kidnappers to take two lakhs and release their son without harming him. Thereupon the kidnappers stated to have agreed for the same and directed the parents to come down to Medak with the cash and take back their son.
The parents then approached the police and narrated the whole kidnap drama and the ransom being demanded. On the advice of the police the parents proceeded to Medak with the cash in an attempt to pay the ransom amount to ensure safe return of their kidnapped son. The police at the same time set up a decoy to trap anyone who would come to collect the ransom amount. However, anti-climax to the whole drama, the kidnappers seem to have scented the police trap and did not make their appearance.
The police now have spread a dragnet in the disgrict and also in the neighbouring areas to hunt the kidnappers even as the distressed parents of the kidnapped boy were keeping their fingesd crossed and praying that no harm should befall on their son.
