New Delhi: In a freak incident, a 10-year-old boy was injured by a gunshot under mysterious circumstances in east Delhi, police said today.
The boy identified as Aman had gone to a local shop in Farsh Bazar area at around 8 pm when he received the bullet injury. He collapsed on the ground and was noticed by his uncle who rushed him to Hedgewar hospital from where he was shifted to GTB hospital as his condition deteriorated, said a police officer.
The doctors at the hospital detected the wound on his abdomen and later took out the bullet lodged there.
A case of attempt to murder was registered at Farsh Bazar police station and investigation has been taken up, he said.
Police suspected that the boy was hit by the bullet which was fired by someone with a country-made pistol.
